HANSALI ORGANIC FARM & FARM STAY

We have an Organic Farm at Village Hansali, Distt. fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, which has been judged at one of the top 10 organic farms in India, on the occasion of the World Organic Congress held in Delhi in November 2017, & in the past we also have had the privilege of the visit of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales to our farm in 2010 amongst other personalities. We practice Integrated organic farming, which basically means that we have a dairy for Organic Cow Milk (with both Holstein 'HF' cows, as well as 'desi' Sahiwal cows), a Goat Farm, Free Range Chickens, Organic vegetable Farming in Net Houses, an Orchard for Organic Fruits, in addition to open field organic farming of Wheat & Basmati rice & pulses, spread in 14 acres of land. For farm stays, we would like our guests to have a hands on experience of life at a working farm, where guests can be woken up by the roosters in the morning, and can see the activity from6amonwards, they can visit the vegetable garden, & even try their hand at cooking the fresh vegetables (even though we do have a cook to offer fixed menu fresh meals), rest & read in the open sun, play chess, carrom, cards or go cycling in the surrounding areas. For sightseeing, we are at a 15 minute drive from the very historic Gurudwaras at Sirhind, (and Sirhind town it itself also has many other sightseeing places like a Fort, a Mughal Garden, a historical Mosque etc.) Also we are at a drive of almost 25 minutes from Patiala, a city known for handicrafts (Phulkaris & Punjabi jutti's) in addition to a rich heritage of architecture (Sheesh Mahal/NIS) Also, location wise, we are at a distance of 38 kilometers from Chandigarh, and from the Chandigarh airport, we are at an approximate distance of 30 kilometers on a well maintained metalled road (and time wise around 45-50 minutes from the airport). We can even try to arrange transportation (taxi) from the airport for you to reach our farm comfortably. For the farm stay accomodation, we have 2 comfortable air conditioned rooms/suites (16.5ftx12.5ft), with attached bathrooms & private patio's overlooking an orchard (21ftx15ft). One of the rooms also has an attached dining with it. We also have a dedicated kitchen for guests where we can cook fixed menu home made meals, or guests can even try their hand at cooking freshly plucked vegetables from the garden. We also have a reading/activity room for our guests to relax outside of the bedrooms. The charges for one double occupancy room/suite are Rs. 8000 for one night, which includes breakfast & meals. Charge for extra bed is Rs.1500 per guest including meals. We also have the facility of stay for an accompanying driver/help which is complimentary, without any charge, including his meals. Also, we are pet friendly.
