Poonch (also referred to as Punch ) is a town and amunicipal councilinPoonch Districtin theIndianstateofJammu and Kashmir.
Poonch is located at Jammu & Kashmir.It has an average elevation of 981metres (3218feet). ThePir Panjalrange of mountains separates Poonch Valley from theKashmir Valley. For a long time the only road connection between the two valleys was from Jammu.
