Aeons ago when the renowned Rinpoche of Kagyu Sect from Tibet visited Sikkim, he had no place to stay. Taken by the mystic charm of the place, when Palden Kazi from the Barphungpa Clan, asked the revered Guru to stay with him, a wooden house was built on their property.
Today, the place stands tall, as the Mazong House, in a cosy hamlet called Forest Colony, towards Baluwa Khani.
The current owner, Tenzing, who quit his job with the Government of India, to start his famous homestay has kept the legacy of his grandfather alive.
