We are a genuine farmstay and NOT a resort. Thought we should get that clear at the start.In the midst of the misty tea garden in Wayanad, we have have setup a perfect getaway for you.We offer farm stay with food.The spaceThe retreat is spread across 4 acre property. Its the right place to connect with nature and relax.Guest can stroll through the green landscape and take a dip in the stream which is crossing the property.We have 3 types guesthouse/ cottages - English cottage, Bamboo hut and Kerala ethnic cottage.All cottages have attached bath. Our farmstay is on a hillside and has 2 levels . Guests should be prepared to do a fair bit of walking up and down slopes. ActivitiesBonfire : Bonfire can be arranged on request. Availability based on climatic conditions.Hike : You can walk up to the property top , which is a good hike.If you want an extended hiking trip, trip can be arranged at a cost. This require advance booking.Board games: One can kill time enjoying lazy atmosphere at the farm by spending time at the recreation room.Other things to noteYaksha is a nature lodge.We developed the retreat with minimal disturbance to the mother earth and the living creatures in and around.Food:Breakfast is provided as part of the package, but for those who need arrangements for lunch or dinner, advance notice is required. Also need to let us know about veg/non-veg preference. This needs to be done ahead of time, as this is not a full time restaurant/hotel - and food would need to be purchased as required.NEARBY PLACES TO VISIT1. Gurukula botanical garden(Periya) - The Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary is dedicated to the plants of the Western Ghats, a mountain range running down the western coastline of peninsular India. Banasura dam (Padinjarathara) Banasura Sagar dam across the Karamanathodu River, a tributary of River Kabini, in Kalpetta, is considered to be the largest earth dam in India and the second largest in Asia. The dam is ideally placed in the foothills of Banasura hills, which got its name from 'Banasura'.At Banasura Sagar dam, you can engage yourself in trekking and boating. Trekking is one of the top attractions here. You can plan a trek to the dark forests of Banasura Peak. A boating trip in the lake and the dam is also a unique experience for the travellers. You can choose either speed boat or pedal boat. You can also plan a trip to the small nature park, very near to the boating place. Edakkal cave(Ambukuthi Hills) - Is famous for its pictorial paintings (cave paintings), which are considered to be of 6000 B C. To reach the caves, one has to trek through the Ambukutty Mala. It will take around 45 minutes to climb the hill and you will never get disappointed in your trip to these historic caves.Edakkal is the only known place in India with Stone Age carvings. A major tourist destination in the district, Pookode is a natural freshwater lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is 15 km away from Kalpetta.
