Village View Homestay

Two freestanding cottages with a wrap around porch, (sleeps 4 in each) are certified by the tourism department of the Govt of India, meeting their standards. Henceforth, these two cottages will be referred to as luxury cottages. Each of these luxury cottages have one bedroom, one attached bathroom, ac, flat screen tv, hot water geyser, mini refrigerator, locked cabinet, A 22’ high ceiling provides a grand inside view of the thatched roof thru a clear pexi glass false ceiling underneath that keeps the room free of clear of any unwanted particles from the thatched roof.One smaller cottage (sleeps 2) has all the things the luxury cottages do and in addition it is wheelchair accessible. However, it is called budget cottage simply because it is smaller in size.There is another airconditioned but small no frill bedroom adjacent to the dining area with an exclusive but detached bathroom.After dinner floor mattress can be provided in the dining area for up to two drivers.This homestay has another no frill cabin (sleeps 4) located 8’ above water in an absolutely secluded location & it is recommended for adventurous travelers only. The cabin currently has a detachedbath located on the embankment area. To reach this cabin you need to take about a mile car drive from the main homestay, then about 200 meter walk thru the paddy field and finally, a small boat ride.However, upon reaching here, hope you will have an exciting stay and an unique camping like experience of a lifetime. You will be able to fish directly from the balcony of the cabin or swim in the pond in a moonlit night. We do NOT have any lifeguard but life jacket will be available for rent. Two tents & floor mattresses (accommodating 4), can be rented for pitching on the rooftop of this no frillwater cabin.We prefer to rent the entire place to one single group. However, if available, you may rent one or more cottages/rooms.A single group renting the whole place will have the advantage of relaxed house rules, some of which are enforced for the convenience of other guests such as loud music, standard meals, & standardservices.Before construction, I spent considerable nights in area guest houses. None of them comes close to the amenities I offer. Experience an authentic village life, view of greeneries all around, totally secluded yet safe location, diving, swimming, fishing, experiencing basic organic farming without any hi-tech tools as it used to be done in good old days. See rearing of edible fishes, growing of mushrooms & organic vegetables. In the main homestay enjoy table tennis, basketball hoop, carrom board,relaxing on a hammock, and many other activities not found in any ordinary motel or guest house.Activities such as bullock cart ride, renting bikes, can also be arranged for additional fees and with the cooperation of the villagers.All cottages including the cabin on water are within 4.5 KM from Prantik station in Shantiniketan.
