Sitting at an elevation of 9,600 feet above sea level, Modern Residency is deluxe property that is perfectly secluded for a much needed break from the busy life. Lachung has been described as "most picturesque village of Sikkim" by British explorer Joseph Dalton in his book The Himalayan Journal.

About an hour and half away from Lachung is Yumthang, known as the Valley of Flowers.
