Madikeri (at Coorg) is a well known hill station for tourists in Karnataka. It is situated 252 km from Bangalore, and it is the headquarters of the district Kodagu. It has mesmerizing mountain ranges all over with luscious greenery and the tranquil waters of the Cauvery River flowing through the hilly area.

Madikeri gives a rejuvenating feel to those who visit this place, hence attracting a lot of tourists. It is known for its beautiful coffee, tea, and cardamom plantations. It is referred to as the Scotland of India and is said that its scenic beauty dragged the British to this tourist spot nearly 100 years ago. The hill resort also has a lot of ancient history attached to it with the Great Madikeri Fort.

This village is located near kaveri river. Madikeri is main and center city of kodagu district. From madikeri to kushalnagar 30 kms of distance. Kushalnagar is also center city of coorg district for industrial purpose. To enter from mysore to kodagu district. The kaveri river bridge is situated in kushalnagar. kanive (Rampura) is far away from kushalnagar about 8 kms. Mysore, Hassan, Madikeri tourists peoples having near than others. In this kanive (Rampura) village the Ramalingeshwara temple is located. So the village is also called Rampura. The area of Kodagu is about 1586 sq.miles. Kodagu has 3 taluks namely Somwarpet, madikeri, and virajpet. Madikeri is the district headquarters of kodagu district. The famous river kaveri sanctified in scripture and legend rises at Thalacauvery. Heavy rainfall in coorg puts the district in the evergreen forest belt. The main crops grown in this district are coffee, cardamom, pepper, orange and paddy. Coorg honey is famous for its taste and originality.
