A modern loft house with Kerala architecture, wooden flooring, large windows, in a quiet Himalayan hideout, 4600 feet above sea level. Ideal as a base to explore all the important places in Chamoli, including Benital, Chopta, Auli, Gopeswar, Karnaprayag, Adibadri and Gairsain. A trek to Pindar River (2 Kms), through the Ratura Valley could be exhilirating (descent of 2400 feet in altitude). River trek and fun-activities (incl. Trout angling) can be arranged. A tough trek in the Forest available. The space A great place for bird-watching, trekking and sight-seeing. Suitable for Work From Home, with high speed broadband connectivity @Rs100 per day. The full kitchen with gas stove, gas cylinder, pressure cooker and utensils available at Rs 200 per day. Vegetarian meals cost between Rs 200-300 per head, depending on the menu. Guest access We have a shared (with host) workspace-cum-viewing gallery, a lawn and garden, lounge space. Other things to note We are connected by Heli Services from Sahasradhara Heliport in Dehradun City to Gauchar, 25 kms to the property, by Heitage Air. Heli Service from Jolly Grant Dehradun Airport to Gauchar is provided by Pawan Hans. We're about 12 hours away from Delhi NCR by road. To see the exact location please search for "Swayambhu Social Foundation" on Google Maps. There are three routes to reach us by road, either via Rishikesh, or Lansdowne, or via Ramnagar. An overnight stopover is recommended for senior guests. Most road conditions are fairly good, right up to the doorsteps.
